1  Joomla 1.5 SEF patch / Support questions / Re: Double Names In Title Bar and HTML Tag on: April 18, 2008, 03:18:09 AM
Richard,

here is what is shown in the header section when i view the source,

<title>Home - Southern Search &amp;amp; Rescue, Inc. - Southern Search &amp; Rescue, Inc.</title>
  <base href="http://southernrescue.org/" />
  <meta name="keywords" content="joomla, Joomla"/>
  <meta name="description" content="Southern Search & Rescue, INc. is a US based international emergency response organization." />
  <meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
  <meta name="copyright" content="Copyright 1996 - 2008 and on, Southern Search & Rescue, Inc." />
  <meta name="verify-v1" content="pePuwsK7SJkuzxNA38EY2F6Q8lie4OnNMni7s6tA6wQ=" />

  <meta name="iWatchDog-Program-Licensing" content="http://www.iwatchdog.org/license.html" />
  <meta name="iWatchDog-Program-Validation" content="true comment "ChildSafe International Web Sites" for "http://www.southernrescue.org" on "2004.01.03"" />
  <meta name="title" content="Home - Southern Search &amp;amp; Rescue, Inc. - Southern Search &amp; Rescue, Inc." />
If you would like, you can either PM me or email me and I will be happy to grant you access to the site.  It's still in its rebuild stage.  The only other plugin for SEO is the JoomSEF for Joomla 1.5.  Let me know and you can go in a poke around.
2  Joomla 1.5 SEF patch / Support questions / Double Names In Title Bar and HTML Tag on: April 17, 2008, 12:39:38 AM
This is similar to others that I have seen, but it is very different.

Our site name is Southern Search & Rescue, Inc.

I have now upgrade the site to 1.5.2 and I have upgraded the SEF Patch.  The issue I am having is this.

In the title bar and html tag in the source it shows, ie. Home - Southern Search &amp; Rescue, Inc. - Southern Search & Rescue, Inc.

Yes, that is right in the first site name it uses the &amp; code.  I know that this is an issue with Joomla I believe, and I can fix that part.  But am having trouble with the doubling of the name.

If I delete the [TITLE] - [SITENAME] out of the box in the SEO area, it removes all items from the page related to it.

If I just use [TITLE], I get the name of the page, as I have set it and the Southern Search &amp; Rescue, Inc. ie. Home - Southern Search &amp; Rescue, Inc.

If I use just the [SITENAME], I get the Southern Search & Rescue, Inc. only.

If I have in the [TITLE] - [SITENAME], I get Home - Southern Search &amp Rescue, Inc. - Southern Search & Rescue, Inc.

There has to be something that was included that should not have been or something.  I am by no means a programmer and just trying to get out charities website back online.  Look at it here, http://www.southernrescue.org
3  Joomla SEF Patch extended version support (paid version) / Joomla 1.01x versions / Re: SEFPatch Extended for 1.5 on: November 15, 2007, 03:09:24 AM
Wonderful.  I know that they are saying not to run a "production" site using Joomla 1.5 yet, but on only one of my sites, I have no option.  All my other sites are running either 1.0.13 or 1.0.12, all with SEF Ex. Patch, etc., but due to issues with trying to have some pages show up as https: and some not, I was forced to use the 1.5 for the other site.  All of the "work-arounds" I have check out will not work.  But keep up the great work and look forward to more.

Is there going to be a version of the SEF Patch that will work with Joomla! 1.5?

I have not seen anything out there that is ready to use and have been using SEF Patch since I have setup my 1.0.x sites, but we are now running one of our sites on 1.5 and need to be able to add all the meta tags like before.

In the second part of the installation, where I have to upload some pages and files to the site, in the main section of the site, it replaces both index.php and index2.php

Do you wish me to add the file to this site, or email it to you?

We have installed Access Granted by mambobrothers and now we have lost all of the meta tag items from the pages we have created and on any new pages we create now.

Is there a work around that will allow SEF PEV to work with AG?

Ok,

I just tried disabling the Artio manbot and it allows me to view the pages.  But I am still having an issue.

When I view the front page, it shows the following for the meta tags:

"<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<link href="http://www.southernrescue.org/templates/js_simplicity_red/css/fixed.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<link href="http://www.southernrescue.org/templates/js_simplicity_red/css/fluid.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<title>Home - Southern Search &amp; Rescue, Inc.</title>
<meta name="title" content="Home - Southern Search &amp;amp; Rescue, Inc." />
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
<meta name="description" content="SouthernRescue.org will be back soon." />
<meta name="keywords" content="southernrescue.org" />
<meta name="Copyright" content="1996 - 2007 and on, Southern Search & Rescue, Inc." />"

Then when I visit another page I can view the following:
"<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<link href="http://www.southernrescue.org/templates/js_simplicity_red/css/fixed.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<link href="http://www.southernrescue.org/templates/js_simplicity_red/css/fluid.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<title>Welcome to SouthernRescue.org - Southern Search &amp; Rescue, Inc.</title>
<meta name="title" content="Welcome to SouthernRescue.org - Southern Search &amp;amp; Rescue, Inc." />
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
<meta name="description" content="SouthernRescue.org will be back soon." />
<meta name="keywords" content="southernrescue.org" />
<meta name="googlebot" content="noarchive" />
<meta name="Copyright" content="1996 - 2007 and on, Southern Search & Rescue, Inc." />
<meta http-equiv="Last-modified" content="2007-05-31 5:46:38 GMT" />"

I still do not get the meta tag to allow google to collect a snippet on the additional pages, though its there and I don't get all of the meta tags on the home page.

I dont know if the snippet is required or not, but the google image prevention is also missing and that one really should be there.  It also missing on the other sites where I am using Artio 1.4.x versions.

Love this SEF Path, don't want to see it go, unless it is actually included in Artio itself.

I just found the mambot, must have hidden it self when i looked initially and by disabling it my problem "i think" is resloved.

Well, did this correct your problem.  Is everything working correctly now?

Richard, have you been able to contact Artio to find out what is up?  I am working on my third Joomla site and do not have any content on it yet, but don't want to add any unless I know I can use the 1.5.1 version of Artio's work and the Patch file from here, otherwise I will have to use either 1.4.2 or 1.4.3 and hope that someday I can update.

Thanks
Chris

Richard,

I also noticed that on the pages that did show up that the following information was included in the header, even though I have it setup to not include them.

"<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
<meta name="description" content="removed data for shortness" />
<meta name="keywords" content="removed data for shortness" />
<meta name="googlebot" content="noarchive" />
<meta name="googlebot" content="snippet" />
<meta name="Generator" content="Joomla! - Copyright (C) 2005 - 2006 Open Source Matters. All rights reserved. JoomSEF SEO by Artio (http://www.artio.net) - databases, information system and web applications, co-sponsored by Dr. Steven Morris (http://www.michiganmakeover.com&quot;) - Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery in Michigan &amp;amp; Moravatour (http://www.moravatour.cz) - dovolena u more" />
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />"

It added the generator tag back in though I have it not included.  It removed my Copyright tag, it added the googlebot snippet, which does not show up when using Artio 1.4.2 and it provided double robot tags.  I know that not all of this is the SEF patch compotent, but it has to do with it some.

Would like to know about this to.  Just upgrade Artio to version 1.5.1 and am having the same error.

My is the same error information expect that the line number is a little different.

I feel that a lot of people will be seeing this very soon.  Would ask that this be looked into ASAP.

Thanks and keep up the great work.

Richard,

Ok, the file fixed the issue with the robots works.  The only other think I saw is that is still give a small problem is the Google options.  I still have the as the default, as I shown below, but when I create a new page, they are not the default options there.

Maybe an issue that was over looked or I might be missing something.

Richard,

Look in your emails (if you have kepted them) at the date of 2/3/07.  The email address is chris.hodgdon@kaufman-ares.org, for use on website kccert.org, this was a special deal, so you don't have an order number.  If you can't find it, email me and I will forward our emails, so you can see what I am talking about.

I have created an admin account for you.  I will PM you the login information.  Thanks

Chris

I have read some things about this, but I still do not have a clear answer.  Please, I am going to list all that I can, and hopefully we will be able to clear up any misunderstanding.

I am running Joomla 1.0.12
JoomSEF 1.3.3 (I know it has issues that it works for now)
SEF Patch Extended Ver. 1.0a (Release Ver 2.)

In my SEF Patch Config File I have the following set:

Meta Tag robots settings:
Default: Index, Follow

Google MetaTags Settings:
Global Google Catche: Prevent Pages to be included in google cache
Prevent Google to index images on your site: Yes

But, when I create a brand new page and I don't modify any of the Meta Info for the new page, now of these default items show up.  If I change Robots Settings to index, follow on the page Meta Info Tab, it shows up, same if I change the google catche setting, but as a default, they do not go to my default.

I am missing something, or is that how it should work.  Again, this is when I am creating a BRAND NEW page and not an existing page.
