When using Joomla Tags (which is an excellent component) you can not rewrite the URL titles, so all of your tags will have the exact same titles! Is there any way that Joomlatwork and Phil can work together to resolve a work around? I consider these both core components, as I am sure many people do.

The SEF patch component is NOT an URL rewriting component. Please tell us what you mean....

Do you mean that the HTML title is always the same? Can you please provide me a sample?

The sitename is displayed in the TITLE, the tag name is not included in the TITLE.

In the backend I have this URL set to display a custom TITLE such as:   JAPAN - HDR OKINAWA

However, it's not displaying.  Shocked

The tag name is the tag from the Phil Taylor component?

The tag (URL) is generated from OpenSEF URL's, which are from the Joomla Tags Component, yes.

According to Phil:

"Joomla Tags sets the meta data in the same way as any component can in Joomla - through the $mainframe objects API

It is then down to Joomla (Or another SEF Component) to use that data to format and display the meta data HTML tags.

I dont think there is anything we should or could do different."

Hope this helps.

Forsh,

Unfortunately the code that Phil provide is encrypted so I can't see what is happing in his code.

As far as I understand the Phil 'code' is changing the title with the so called Tags (right?). Since I can't see how this is achieved I can't make a bridge between the 2 components.

Regards,

Richard

Well, the good news is that his old tags component works fine with your SEF Patch, so I will just go back to the old one. It works for my needs anyway, I appreciate your help Richard.

Thanks,

But I feel that I could not help you since I've no control over the code.... In our opinion commercial extensions should also provide the source code since it's in the interest of customers (as this is a good example).

Regards,

Richard
