Enable the content last-modified tag:

I was wondering if you could elaborate a bit on the "Content date settings (HTTP-EQUIV):" settings.

I have experienced some difficulty and think I was able to resolve the problem by disabling the content last-modified tag.  When this tag was enabled and I made changes to the site the changes would not take effect.   I would disable a module and I could not see the change in both FF and IE,  Opera was fine.

Just curious about what is going on and if it is bad to have this setting disabled.

The http-equiv settings is the same as the modified date in the physical http header. There are some debates on the SEO forums that this will increase the ranking value of the page, although it can't hurt to turn it off. If a search engine retrieves a pages the date will show an actual date when the page was last modified. This in regards of the Joomla setting that each time a page is generated the modified date is wrong. This setting gives a more actual setting for the modified date.
