I've been searching around for a fix to this problem with the Extended Version that I paid for. I've been trying to change the HTML Title for my home page. I changed it a couple of times. The first time it did nothing and kept the words: 'Welcome to the Frontpage - pchabitat.com. The second time I changed it.... it changed for a day or so... but changed right back to the previous... The steps I did: - I created a custom title for the home page
Selected publish Saved configuration
Here is an image of the settings I chose: link to image: http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/3101/pchabitatrm9.pngI do hope you can help. Lhlalyam

Try to disable the cache in the global coniguration of Joomla. There is a bug within this cache in relation to the frontpage and the HTML title.

Richard

Hi Richard
Thanks for the information. My global cache is already disabled. What I notice is that sometimes when I open up the home page... it works... but other times... when I look again... it reverts back to Welcome to FrontPage...
Should I disable SEO or Dynamic Page Titles in Global Config?

Should I disable SEO or Dynamic Page Titles in Global Config? Dynamic titles should be on. What is your website? THe "welcome at your hompage" is the standard page title (and not the menu link that is displayed as title). Did you have filled in the custom HTML title field as well? Regards, Richard

Hello again. yes I have filled in the custom HTML title. When I save it.... it changes to the custom title.. but when I go back to visit my own site... it reverts back to the old 'Welcome to the Frontpage - pchabitat.com' My site is: http://www.pchabitat.comPlease have a look and post any other ideas. Thanks. Lhlalyam

Did you have enabled the joomla cache? There is a little bug in the cache that always reverts the standard page title. When the cache is off the problem should be solved.

Richard

Hi- I am having the same problem. I have the cache off and it still says "Welcome to the FrontPage..." I have "Dynamic titles" on. I created a homepage url in the "SEO URL repository overview" in the SEF Patch Extended Component and customized it with my desired new settings. Again, I bought the extended version and am not sure how to get the HTML Title for the homepage to change. I have Joomla 1.0.13 and the site's url is: http://www.childtraveltips.comthanks- Chris

You can change the frontpage title on:
menu->mainmenu -> select the home / frontpage menu element. Goto the parameters and put your title at the HTML title parameter field.

Richard

Ps. all the joomla elements like the menu blogs, frontpage and content elements will have these additional fields.

Hi, I have followed all tips in this conversation, but still have problem as described in the beginning. Check www.ctrackindonesia.com. At the "home" I still cannot get the title, still mentioned "home". Also, only at "Contacts" I get the sitename mentioned (CTRACKINDONESIA). Contacts is a default module. The other pages are just content with a section and category. Bart (v 12 of the extended extension.)

I've checked your website and I notice the following within your HTML code: <title>C-TRACK INDONESIA | Home</title> <meta name="title" content="Official Website of Indonesia's Most Advanced GPS Fleet Management System - C-TRACK INDONESIA" /> Where have you put the META tag title in? Check your template code if the correct title tag is used... Richard

Hallo,
I uninstalled SEF404, after restoring my site, now it works. So, functionality is sensitive to SEF404. Is there any way to have both modules working smoothly together?
