Everything is working great.  How do I do the Google thing?  Do I set it in each meta tag description or can I do it in the metaconfig.xml?

The default metaconfig.xml already contains the Google bot..

Quote
    <param name="googlebot" type="list" default="" label="Google settings" description="Settings for the Google crawler">
        <option value="">Do nothing</option>
        <option value="noarchive">noarchive => don't include in Google cache</option>
        <option value="nosnippet">nosnippet => disallow a summary display</option>
        <option value="noodp">noodp => disallow a summary from dmoz.org</option>
        <option value="noarchive, nosnippet">noarchive, nosnippet</option>
        <option value="noarchive, noodp">noarchive, noodp</option>
        <option value="nosnippet, noodp">nosnippet, noodp</option>
        <option value="noarchive, nosnippet, noodp">noarchive, nosnippet, noodp</option>
    </param>

Don't you see this within your meta settings at the menu and articles?

yes, but you said I am not using it. Do I change the "Settings for the Google crawler"?

You can just remove it from the xml file. Then it will not show up

I am a little confused.  Do I or do I not want to use it?  Should I just leave it and change what is said in the description or should I remove the line in the xml file?

If you dont want to use it remove it from the XML file. Where are you confused about?

The Google meta tag is to prevent for example that your page can be retrieved from the cache within the Google results. In this way the user must always go to your site to view the content of the page from the Google results list.....

I want to keep it... what do I change?  Do I change it in the xml or on each page?  If in the xml, where?  If on each page what do I change it to?

Edit the metaconfig.xml file located in the root of your web directory. In this file you should be able to define custom META settings.

You where right. There was a small bug something that has changed at RC4 caused this. If fixed it, you can download it again.

You can upload the file: /libraries/joomla/document/html/render/head.php

Thanks for the reply.

Not that Joomla 1.5 stable has been released, I was wondering if I can still apply the SEF patch after the upgrade or will a new version be created specifically for J1.5 stable?

So far, your SEF patch has done wonders for my site's indexing. Thank you for this wonderful patch. Cheesy

Raymond,

I will release the patch for the official 1.5 coming thursday evening (CET). I had no time for the upgrade yet. Don't apply this to the 1.5 stable version since the files are patched.

Newbie question...

Just installed the 1.5 Stable and am getting an error message
JHTML Form Not supported. File not found.

Installed the patch on Joomla 1.5C4 site with Legacy enabled.
