SEFPatch Extended for 1.5

Is there going to be a version of the SEF Patch that will work with Joomla! 1.5?

I have not seen anything out there that is ready to use and have been using SEF Patch since I have setup my 1.0.x sites, but we are now running one of our sites on 1.5 and need to be able to add all the meta tags like before.

Actual the full functionality + more will be available within the 1.5 (or later). I've contacts with Johan / Andrew and Wilco about this integration and have patched the 1.5 already. The only problem is to get it integrated. The changes I've made have impact on different core files and these should be talked through with the core members like Andrew. Only it seems difficult to get in contact with each other ...

We support the fact that this functionality should be available within the core of Joomla

The current status is that it will not be included within the 1.5 release. But I've the same issue with a project where these improvements should be available. When the final release of 1.5 becomes available I will patch the 1.5 release again.

Wonderful.  I know that they are saying not to run a "production" site using Joomla 1.5 yet, but on only one of my sites, I have no option.  All my other sites are running either 1.0.13 or 1.0.12, all with SEF Ex. Patch, etc., but due to issues with trying to have some pages show up as https: and some not, I was forced to use the 1.5 for the other site.  All of the "work-arounds" I have check out will not work.  But keep up the great work and look forward to more.

I'm also really keen to see SEFPatch/SEFPatch Extended in Joomla! 1.5

My main concern is that

a) I've only used SEFPatch on a 1.0.x site and not SEFPatch Extended
b) I'm one of those Joomla users that has been using {mospagebreak} on 1.0.x for very many 10 page articles and the problem I have is that title, meta description & meta keywords are exactly the same across all the individual pages.

I've found that since going from static HTML to Joomla! CMS that my pages are no longer particularly well optimised.

If you guys could code a fix for this it'd be the ultimate SEF extension next to re-written URLs. Any chance of this either as a core fix or an extension?

I've patched the 1.5 Beta version already and will patch the 1.5rc3 for the end of this year. Note: this will be a different patch then the current one, see there is no support for backend conversion for SEO since the 1.5 framework is some what different.

Thanks Richard. I'm desperate to have Joomla 1.5 as fully SEO functional as possible else it will hamper all on-page SEO efforts for the foreseeable future.

I'm waiting for info, as well... now that 1.5 stable is ready I would really be happy if a 1.5 sef patch extended versione were available...
I've seen there is the 1.5 sef patch but I did not see the extended version, yet...

There is no longer an extended version for 1.5. The full functionality is available for 1.5. We have decided that for 1.5 this is a free patch. This week you will find the patch for the 1.5 stable release.
