This is similar to others that I have seen, but it is very different.

Our site name is Southern Search & Rescue, Inc.

I have now upgrade the site to 1.5.2 and I have upgraded the SEF Patch.  The issue I am having is this.

In the title bar and html tag in the source it shows, ie. Home - Southern Search & Rescue, Inc. - Southern Search & Rescue, Inc.

Yes, that is right in the first site name it uses the & code.  I know that this is an issue with Joomla I believe, and I can fix that part.  But am having trouble with the doubling of the name.

If I delete the [TITLE] - [SITENAME] out of the box in the SEO area, it removes all items from the page related to it.

If I just use [TITLE], I get the name of the page, as I have set it and the Southern Search & Rescue, Inc. ie. Home - Southern Search & Rescue, Inc.

If I use just the [SITENAME], I get the Southern Search & Rescue, Inc. only.

If I have in the [TITLE] - [SITENAME], I get Home - Southern Search &amp Rescue, Inc. - Southern Search & Rescue, Inc.

There has to be something that was included that should not have been or something.  I am by no means a programmer and just trying to get out charities website back online.  Look at it here, http://www.southernrescue.org

Strange, this is not the standard beheauviour of the patch....

What is the content of the META tag title if you enable this?

What is see is that the sitename is already added to the title tag when the head is rendered. Are you using other plugins?

  <base href="http://southernrescue.org/" />
  <meta name="keywords" content="joomla, Joomla"/>
  <meta name="description" content="Southern Search & Rescue, INc. is a US based international emergency response organization." />
  <meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
  <meta name="copyright" content="Copyright 1996 - 2008 and on, Southern Search & Rescue, Inc." />
  <meta name="verify-v1" content="pePuwsK7SJkuzxNA38EY2F6Q8lie4OnNMni7s6tA6wQ=" />

  <meta name="iWatchDog-Program-Licensing" content="http://www.iwatchdog.org/license.html" />
  <meta name="iWatchDog-Program-Validation" content="true comment "ChildSafe International Web Sites" for "http://www.southernrescue.org" on "2004.01.03"" />
  <meta name="title" content="Home - Southern Search &amp;amp; Rescue, Inc. - Southern Search &amp; Rescue, Inc." />
If you would like, you can either PM me or email me and I will be happy to grant you access to the site.  It's still in its rebuild stage.  The only other plugin for SEO is the JoomSEF for Joomla 1.5.  Let me know and you can go in a poke around.
