same thing is happening to me. I enter meta data, click Save (or Apply) and the data is saved. But then going back to the tab there is no information displayed for the article. I have confirmed on lots of pages that the information I am entering is all being saved and displayed correctly on the rendered pages. Being able to update the existing text (like in 1.5.3) would sure be nice.
Darn I like this code!

Hello,
I also installed the patch on a new 1.5.4 site and the sitename is not showing up in the html title.
In the global configuration SEO tab I have the HTML title setting: [TITLE]-[SITENAME] and the Default title: [SITENAME].
What is showing up on the website is only the [TITLE].

What is showing up on the website is only the [TITLE]. Do you mean that the output is "[TITLE]" ? Is this an upgrade or a new installation? Regards, Richard

Hello,
This was a new Joomla 1.5.4 installation.
It is showing what the TITLE of the menu item or content item is not "[TITLE]". The sitename is missing from the html title.
Thanks.

Check your installation again or upgrade to J1.5.5 I've double checked it and see no problems..

Hi,
I have upgraded to Joomla 1.5.5 and installed 1.5.5 patch files, but I am still not getting the name of the site to show up in the html title, only the menu title is showing up.
Any other ideas?
Thanks.

Same here, I upgraded from 1.5.3 and it's only showing the menu titles, home page title is ok but I can't modify it. When I open the menu modification for a category i see there the meta data but it won't load them, it only shows the menu title.
Simply used the 1.5.3 to 1.5.5 patch from Joomla.org, then uploaded all Sef Patch 1.5.5 files.

Richard -- The same behavior I was seeing before is still happening after upgrading to 1.5.5. and applying the 1.5.5 patch. Everything I enter is correctly being stored and used when the pages are generated. BUT when I go back the data is not redisplayed on the backend. Since it is "working" I am reluctant to start completely fresh to see if something changes. (This was fresh as of 1.5.3.)
If I can supply any other data I would be happy to do so. And this actually is NOT a complaint. I love what your code does and really consider this an annoyance, not anything that would stop me from using it. It just makes me think before as I type in the meta data. :-)

Mike,
Can you 'package' your site? SQL + code? And send it somehow over?

Richard --
Can do. Or at least sure can try. It will probably be this weekend. Thanks for taking an interest.

Richard --
MYSTERY SOLVED! At lunch I was thinking how my installation could possible be different than yours where things are working. I really am not doing anything that far out of the ordinary. So I started going through things and noticed that I had Legacy Support on. On a gut feeling I turned it off and *poof* back came the display of the meta data on the back end.
I then had to follow a bunch of paths to make sure I no longer needed legacy for anything, and it turns out I did not. Give it a try ... or maybe this makes sense to you without even trying.
Either way, I am a very happy camper. I think at this point I can live without 1.0 stuff and if there is ever an absolute show stopper I know what I am putting in is going the right places it is just not displaying correctly.

Hhmmm indeed strange... I never use the 1.0 legacy support.... I will check this out since this should be ok. Thanks for the findings.

Hi,
That isn't my problem. I don't have Legacy mode enabled and haven't had it enabled, but the html title is not working.
