Excluding one page from caching?

All, this looks like an awesome component and is also badly needed for the websites we are mastering.

One thing is not clear from your description of the component. Can I disable caching in your component for a particular page?

Example. Most of the pages on www.jlet.si are more or less static and would perform nicely with your component. There is one part of the website though which reloads the same page with other GET parameters in the URL to give different output:
http://www.jlet.si/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=35&Itemid=32&contest=DJP2006-standard

1. Will this work in the accelerator? Will the accelerator consider these as two pages or one:
http://www.jlet.si/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=35&Itemid=32&day=6&type=daily&contest=DJP2006-standard
http://www.jlet.si/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=35&Itemid=32&day=6&type=task&contest=DJP2006-standard

2. If #1 is considered as a single page. Is it possible to exclude some Joomla pages from the accelerator?

Yes, its amazing to see the performance boost if you have a 'static' like Joomla site.

You can disable single pages to be included within the cache. Each cached page URL is stored within SQL table and for each entry you can disable the caching for the specific page. If you disable the page the cache paged is removed from the cache and will always be by passed within the cache building (not included within the cache anymore).

Also within the global configuration you can disable URL parts that should be excluded from the cache. For example if the unique part is contest=DJP2006-standard you can disable this within the global configuration.

We are working on setting disable filter based on regular expression. This will soon be included within the product.

This is a hack for the index.php I gather? When I upgrade Joomla I have to reinstall your component as well?

Both, you can either patch the index.php (we will supply a new index.php file when Joomla upgrades) or reinstall the component.
