I have installed the latest version of the accelerate component - I received no errors during installation.  When I look at the index.php files in the web root and in the administrator, the modified date for both do change, implying that they were patched.  Index2.php does not get changed.

When I go into the configuration area, I leave the defaults and click on the enable cache button, hit <save> and get back to the control panel.  After a short while I check for caching (cached list, in the /cache folder), and nothing has happened.  When I go back into the configuration screen, the "enabled" button shows "no" as if it was never turned on.

I tried the button to reinstall the application, and it reports back that it was successful.  Still can't enable the cache.

What could be wrong?

Is the cache configuration file writeable??

-> /administrator/components/com_jrecache/jrecache.config.php

"JRE Cache repository overview" is completely BLANK after I have installed component, run the cache engine installer, CHMOD the required files.

Joomla configuraton>cache is off.

What is wrong?
