1. new 1.5 paid version install, just getting my feet wet with it

2. trying to follow "Configuration of the SEO Component" page of the PDF manual -- cannot change (under Configuration settings / General settings) either "HTML title settings:" or "Default title if no title is available:" field values from the default settings. Every time I delete the default values and Save, then reopen, the default values of [TITLE]-[SITENAME] and [SITENAME] reappear.

3. At http://www.borrego-springs.com/ the Site Name from Joomla Global Config is being appended to the Title data manually entered via Joomla 1.5 SEF for that menu item.

The title config field must have a setting.

What do you want in the title of your content? Why must it be empty?

Have you tried to save [TITLE] into the field? In this case only the title of the items is added and not the site title?

Richard -

Thanks for the quidk reply.

I understand from your reply that these fields have to have something entered, and should not be empty. I was not sure from the manual pdf what should be entered here. Thank you for explaining.

Yes, I have tried changing HTML title settings: from [TITLE]-[SITENAME] to [TITLE] and saving, but it always reverts back to [TITLE]-[SITENAME]. I cannot change it. I want it to just be [TITLE].

Neither of these two fields will accept any changes, and always revert back to the defaults every time I save.

Could this be a file / folder permissions issue?

Richard -

Further to my previous, I find that I cannot change ANY of the field values on the General settings tab... They all revert back to the default values when saved.

It looks like the write (save) attempt may be failing, though there is no error message...

Is the configuration file writeable? (located in the com_sefpatch directory in the admin.

Yes, administrator/components/com_sefpatch/configuration.php file permission [linux] was set to 644; I changed it to 666.

It is now correctly saving changes to all fields on both "General settings" and "URL fetching" tabs, and <title> <meta data for title, author, keywords, and description are displaying the way I want. Bravo!

All appears to be working as intended - wish me luck getting everything optimized!

many thanks -- Rich
