Hello

I am in the process of creating a joomla site using Joomla 1.5.15.  I downloaded the free SEF patch for 1.5.15 patch_1515_stable.zip.

I tried to install it through the installer and got JFolder::files: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.
JFolder::folder: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.
JFolder::files: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.
Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.

I saw another post that said to upload the files manually. However, when I try to extract the zip (Windows Vista) I get

Cannot complete the comppressed zipped files extraction wizard
the compressed (zipped) folder is empty

The file shows as being 62kb.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.

Have you tried 7zip or winrar?

R.

I SOLVED IT.  I think you have a problem with your zips.

I downloaded Winrar on another machine . I also redownloaded 1515 and 1514 stable.
1. Winrar test said that the archives were OK.
2. The Winrar extract did not result in a folder structure like the 1510 stable I had downloaded a while back. It just left me with a file called patch_1515_stable.
3. The file was only slightly smaller than the zip I downloaded. I suspected that someone probably zipped a zip file.
4. I changed the extension of the file that winrar extract from no extension to .zip
5. Ran an extract all against the patch_1515_stable.zip and it succesfully extracted the folders and files.

Again, I think that the zips are zips of zips and not zips of the folder structure

hi cgmsys,
sorry, you unzipped the files twice as far as I understood?

Scept1c

What I think happened was:

The original folder and file structure was zipped
The .zip extension was removed from the archive (Patch_0115-stable.zip was renamed to patch_0115_stable)
Patch_0115_stable was zipped and resulted in an archive of patch_0115_stable.zip

The end result appears to be that the folder structure and files were archived twice

To get the files from the archive I
1. Ran winrar on the archive as downloaded. That resulted in only one file extracted called patch_0115_stable
2. I renamed the extracted patch_0115_stable to patch_0115_stable.zip
3. I ran the windows extract against the renamed file. That gave me the files and folder structure.

I know that seems weird but it worked.
