Hey there,

I purchased and just installed the extended version.

Now here is what I 'had' in mind, not sure if it is actually possible..

I would like to give my static content items individual titles (not the meta tag, but the <title></title> tags).

I am asking, because I was told individual titles would be possible. I dont see anything regarding custom titles for my content items...

when I go to the patch configuration, I can say to use [title] - [sitename] the problem here is:

I dont want the sitename shown for all content items AND (most importantly) I do not want to use the item-title as page title...
Lets say my content item title is "educational services". but I want the actual shown site-title to be "educational services for companys and employes in england"

I wouldnt want THAT to be my actual item-title.. if there were like 60 items, it would get kinda confusing for administration... too many and too long item-titles...

I'm open for suggestions Smiley

When did you purchased the component? Since last sunday you can now add your own 'html-title' beside the page title....

This HTML title is shown at the parameters section. But it still uses the "global" title configuration...-> [title]-[sitename]

Do I understand you correctly if you want to have full control over the title but within some pages only the title without the sitename?

Let me know if this is the case and answer your questions...

Regards,

Richard

Thx for your response Smiley

I purchased it November the 21st.

I downloaded the file today. There were a few files to download, only 1 for 1.0.11, so I go that one.
Maybe I got an older one then? Because in the picture below, as u can see, there is no such thing as html-title.
Only the standard joomla parameter settings.

What I would like to do: I want to set individual (site-)titles for my static content items.
I would like to have the option to enter a custom (html site)-title for each content item.

Right now, all I can do is change the name(name title) of the static content item. Whatever I enter as item name, will be the html site-title.

So if I wanted to have a site with a title that says: "Buy nice blue cars with airbags and more", I would have to rename the static content item name(title) to that phrase, because right now, the title is generated through the [title] command in the global configuration of the patch. But I dont want to automaticaly use the item title to displayed as the html <title>.

I hope I was clear in my expressions Cheesy  If not, please ask :-)    I can do some screenshots if nessecary

Regards

At the "Meta Info" Tab. I only have the following options:

Description (joomla standard)
Keywords (joomla standard)

Robots settings (new)
Google cache Settings (new)
Google snippets settings (new)

There is nothing else where I could possibly enter individual title texts...

btw: I am reffering to thel <title></title> tags, just to make things clear.
And there is nothing I can see to set individual titles for my content items...

The installed exteded patch component says: "Release version:     1.0A"
Is that the latest?

thx in advance for your help

You were right. Was the 'old' component. We had problems last week(s) with our hosting environment and within a few days we will change from hosting provider.....

Send you an email with the latest component.

Sure we do. We are currenlty working to include none Joomla items into the SEF patch extended version. Will be released soon...

Also we have provided the core team of Joomla the code to make the core Joomla SEO friendly and that we don't have to patch all the files... Although they have implemented this some additional work still needs to be done to make 1.5 SEO friendly.

Richard

You can login on our website (login) and download the component. It contains the latest title feature.. (select the one without the Joomla version number),

Beside this: I'm working on a update of the SEF patch extended component to support also META tags / titles to URL's. In this case you can set META data to any 'inside' URL that is parsed by Joomla . This supports adding META tags + titles to none standard Joomla elements, like third party components, but you can also used it for Joomla elements like blog's and content elements. It will be released within 1-2 weeks and existing customers can download a free update of this.

Richard

The supports for adding META tags and titles to none standard Joomla elements like third party components. I'm using some third party components where meta data can not be set. This will be very welcome.
