Hi, i have mobile joomla installed which creates mobile version of the site from the  main url http://forthelove.pnworldwide.net/
, but when i turn on jre cache it shows the desktop version instead, which is obviously being cached. Or it shows the mobile version on the desktop if that was cached, so i need to know how to turn of caching for the mobile joomla component.

You can create unique cache pages based on the user-agent of the browser. So you need to check which user-agents you need to set in the configuration of the cache.

Another options is to set a cookie for the mobile users and create an cache page based on the cookie value.

Hi, sorry for late reply, i really need you to give me some basic examples of the two solutions you mentioned in last post. How can this be done. Im trying to finish this for end of today.

I mean, how do i set a cookie page for mobile users ? i saw a previous post which pointed to this site http://nl.php.net/manual/en/function.setcookie.php but this went way over my head, im not at all a developer. I just need one simple cookie for my mobile version, i dont know where to start.

Thanks
Gav

Best way is then to use a user agent settings for creating unique pages. In the JRE cache config you can define unique cache pages based on the user-agent (means the visitor device, like a mobile).

You can define these agents in the field "Browser that should be have an unqiue cache page".

Each line represents a user agent. You can fill in a part of this user-agent. A list of the mobile user agents you will find: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_user_agents_for_mobile_phones

For example:
iPhone

Will create an unique page when an iphone user visit your site.

Richard

How to better set cache for mobile devices  instead of creating each one for each mobile device as one brand like HTC can have a lot of models?

I agree, for the next release I'm already looking into it.
