See http://www.joomlatwork.com/component/option,com_login/Itemid,44/.

There you can download the component with your user details you have received.

We don't have a PDF document. See http://www.joomlatwork.com/products/components/sef_patch_extended.html for the functionality.

I've just purchased and installed this component, but have no idea how to use it. What's the latest news on the documentation, or at least a getting started guide..?

The link is still the documentation.. Actual the usage of the component is not complex. It adjust the default Joomla META and HTML title settings whereby you get full control over the META tags and HTML title. The rest is all of your SEO strategy how you set your title's etc...

Yep, I think I've got the basic hang of it now, but I can't figure out what Custom fields and URL fetching are for. Any tips..?

In custom fields you can define your own META data fields, currently Joomla has only keywords, description, title and the author meta tag. For example is you need a copyright META tag you can define it overhere.

The URL repository you can assign META data to none Joomla core URL (basic components that are not supporting META fiedls), here you can fetch (retrieve) an URL of your website and keywords suggestions are made based on the content of the specific page.

this link no longer works

Ls,

See the documentation on: http://www.joomlatwork.com/products/components/sef_patch_extended.html

For the SEO in relation to the URLS part I'm currently updating the documentation, will be finished this weekend.

About the guide for SEO: there are a lot of resources available on the internet of how you should optimize your website. The SEF Patch extended version only enables the features you need in order to optimize your site.

Is there any info on upgrading from a previous version of the patch to a new one? I have done the following:
saved the db table jos_sefpatch_repository
uninstalled SEF Patch Extended
installed latest version (com_sefpatch_1.0.15)

But all my repository URLS are gone? Do i have to re-instate the table I backed up? How do I do that?

It would be super if someone could write upgrade instructions.

Thanks!

You need to indeed to restore the URL repository database. This can be done through a tool like PHPmyadmin

Upgrade process:

- Backup the tables and write down somewhere your custom META fields if you have any;
- deinstall the component
- upgrade Joomla
- install the component
- restore the URL repository tables
- Create the custom fields again.

This should be the process.
