Starting the PHP Developement Studio

At the end of the installation you have the option to immediately launch PHP Development Studio Pro, or you can use the created start-menu entry.

The welcome page that is shown gives you the option to make yourself familiar with the PHP Development Studio Pro environment. When you close the welcome page (x on the tab at the top), the predefined project is shown.

This project points to the local pre-supplied XAMPP installation with the Joomla installation included.

Your php files, default location under <installation path>/xampp/htdocs, can be uploaded to your php hosting server using your standard procedure, like using FTP or webbased filemanager.

If you open the joomla.clay file and PHP Development Studio Pro displays an error, then the project needs to be refreshed. This is done by a right-click on the project and choose 'refresh'. Now joomla.clay opens correctly.

Installation

Using the single-file installation package, an installation wizard guides you through the setup. The post installation actions make sure the integrated XAMPP and pre-installed Joomla will work out of the box. No manual intervention needed.

If you want to use the XAMPP supplied web applications, please use the following instructions:

• Navigate with the file explorer to: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
• Open hosts file in notepad
• Append to the line reading: 127.0.0.1 localhost
  the text: xampp
  So it reads: 127.0.0.1 localhost xampp
• Save the file
• Launch XAMPP from PHP Development Studio Pro
• Open your browser and go to url: http://xampp/
• Now you can use all XAMPP included web tools like phpMyAdmin, Webalizer and XAMPP instructions
  

Please remember, once XAMPP started, you can access the standard Joomla installation through http://localhost/ and the administration pages through http://localhost/administrator/
